# DocExtract API — Terms of Use **Effective date:** 2026-09-08 **Provider:** Ainception ("Ainception", "we", "us") **Service:** DocExtract API at `https://ainception.ca/api/docextract` > Draft prepared by Ainception. The operator should review, adjust the entity > name and jurisdiction if incorporating, and confirm before publishing. Not > legal advice. ## 1. Acceptance By calling the DocExtract API, subscribing to a plan on RapidAPI, or otherwise using the Service, you ("you", "Customer") agree to these Terms of Use. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. ## 2. The Service DocExtract accepts plain document text and returns AI-generated structured JSON. Supported document types include invoice, resume, meeting notes, contract, and general. The Service is provided on a self-serve basis through the RapidAPI marketplace. ## 3. Accounts and access Access is provisioned through RapidAPI. You are responsible for keeping your API credentials secure and for all activity under your key. Notify us via RapidAPI if you believe your key is compromised. ## 4. Acceptable use You will not: - submit content you do not have the right to process, or that infringes a third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; - use the Service to violate any applicable law, including data-protection, export-control, or sanctions law; - submit special-category or regulated personal data (for example health, biometric, government-ID, or payment-card data) unless you have a lawful basis and have completed any legally required assessments; - attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the Service's security, rate limits, or metering; - resell or redistribute raw Service output as a standalone competing extraction service. ## 5. Your content and responsibilities You retain all rights to the document text you submit ("Input") and to the returned data ("Output"). You grant us a limited right to process Input solely to provide the Service. You are solely responsible for: - having all rights and consents needed to submit the Input; - your and your end users' compliance with privacy and data-protection law; - reviewing and validating Output before relying on it. ## 6. Data handling - **No storage of your documents.** Input and Output are processed in transit and are not written to a database or persistent store by DocExtract. Server logs record request metadata (time, source, endpoint, status) but not document content. - **Sub-processors.** To perform extraction, Input is transmitted to third-party AI providers — currently **Groq, Inc.** (primary) and **Anthropic, PBC** (fallback) — and is subject to their terms and privacy policies. We may change or add providers of similar standing. - **Transient rate-limit data.** We hold per-client request timestamps in memory for up to 60 seconds for abuse prevention. ## 7. AI output — no accuracy guarantee Output is generated by machine-learning models and may be incomplete, incorrect, or misleading. It is **not** professional, legal, financial, accounting, or tax advice. You must independently verify any Output before acting on it. We are not responsible for decisions made in reliance on Output. ## 8. Availability The Service is provided on a best-effort basis with **no uptime or service-level guarantee**. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time, and will use reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes via RapidAPI. ## 9. Rate limits and fair use Usage is metered by your RapidAPI plan. We additionally apply a per-client rate limit (currently 20 requests / 60 seconds) and a request-size cap (64 KB). We may adjust these to protect Service stability. ## 10. Fees, billing, taxes Fees are set by the plan you select on RapidAPI, which handles billing and payment. Fees are exclusive of taxes; you are responsible for applicable taxes other than taxes on our income. Marketplace fees and revenue share are governed by RapidAPI's terms. ## 11. Suspension and termination We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for breach of these Terms, suspected abuse, security risk, non-payment, or legal requirement. You may stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your RapidAPI subscription. Sections 5–7 and 12–15 survive termination. ## 12. Warranty disclaimer THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. ## 13. Limitation of liability TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AINCEPTION WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA. AINCEPTION'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 50. ## 14. Indemnification You will indemnify and hold harmless Ainception from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your Input, your Output use, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law. ## 15. Changes to these Terms We may update these Terms. Material changes take effect 14 days after we post the updated Terms at this URL or notify subscribers via RapidAPI. Continued use after that date is acceptance. ## 16. Governing law These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-waivable consumer rights in your jurisdiction. ## 17.
